Our Giant Tag Sale to benefit Children of the Light will be June 23 and we need the items you don't want! The event will take place at the church and will be widely advertised. Please set aside anything in good condition NOW - from tractors to blenders, books to children's clothing, sofas to golf clubs - and contact Liza Montgomery at 203-830-9384 to let her know what you'll be donating. Item drop-off times will be Thursday, June 21, from 1-7 pm, and Friday, June 22, after morning mass until 7 pm. We also need volunteers for sorting, money handling, selling baked goods, and/or for setting up and breaking down. “Spread the Light” with the Community Services Council"

The Community Services Council of Woodbury invites our friends in the community to share in the spirit of mutual caring and compassion in the Council’s second annual “Spread the Light” fundraising appeal through the end of June. Council volunteers will decorate trees on town greens along Main Street on the morning of the Fourth of July with star lanterns; each star will represent an individual donation of $10 or more made in the “Spread the Light” campaign. Glow sticks will be placed in the stars shortly before dusk to brighten town greens with starlight throughout the Fourth of July evening. Memorial and honorary dedications by donors will be recorded on separate paper stars that will be displayed during July at the Woodbury Public Library.

Proceeds from the “Spread the Light” appeal will support the programs of the Community Services Council to provide food, fuel and short-term crisis assistance to low-income households in Woodbury. Donations by mail should be made payable to the Community Services Council and addressed to the CSCW, PO Box 585, Woodbury CT 06798; please indicate “Spread the Light” on the memo line and enclose a memorial or honorary dedication if desired. For additional information, please contact CSCW President Bob Taylor at community.services.council@gmail.com or at (203) 263-3869.
